Hitachi Group and GlobalLogic are at the forefront of social innovation that revolutionizes social infrastructure. Our collaboration is creating new business processes that transform how people work while empowering their creation of sustainable value. While the synergy of Hitachi Group and GlobalLogic will be a powerful force for change, we are always cognizant of the desire of society and business for the surety of stability. Through the fusion of our capabilities, we will transform co-creation from a strategy into a "culture" where change and stability coexist.

Advance of DX on the Frontlines of Business

Let me introduce a few recent examples of our involvement in co-creation projects in Japan.

BuilMirai —Integrated Digital Service that Elevates Building Value

Provided by Hitachi Building Systems, “BuilMirai,” is a digital service that elevates building management efficiency, enhances operational quality, and improves user comfort. This service is part of Lumada, Hitachi’s core digital business.

GlobalLogic participated in its development and helped evolve it into an as-a-Service type HMAX for Buildings: BuilMirai,” boasting flexible scalability—both expansion and downsizing. GlobalLogic led the cloud architecture and UX design in the development of this service. It collects activity data from the building users and operational data from various building systems including elevators. By analyzing these data sets in the cloud together with domain knowledge of building management, the system improves maintenance quality, enhances energy efficiency, and optimizes overall operations. This integrated approach contributes not only to the well-being of residents and users but also to increasing the overall value of the building.

This ”as-a-Service” version of BuilMirai launched operations in October 2025, with plans to gradually expand its service offerings in the future.

Metaverse Platform for Nuclear Power Plant— Foundation for Data-Driven Nuclear Power Plants

Jointly developed by Hitachi Nuclear Business Unit and GlobalLogic, the Metaverse Platform for Nuclear Power Plant recreates nuclear power plants within the metaverse and supports the streamlining of operations ranging from design to on-site construction, including safety upgrade projects at existing plants, future new constructions, maintenance operations, and decommissioning activities. Multiple certified engineers can enter the metaverse space simultaneously as avatars to perform tasks such as checking on-site conditions, taking measurements, and holding online meetings. In addition, AI-powered functions such as automated minutes generation and design document search support rapid decision-making.

With future integration of Asset Performance Management (APM) and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Metaverse will be a comprehensive platform for on-site data utilization, enabling optimization of capital investment and improved Operation & Maintenance for customer power plants. Through these efforts, our aim is to establish a data-driven approach to power plant management and ultimately realize the foundation of a fully data-driven power plant.

Construction Approval Metaverse —Digital Transformation of Production Processes Will Change the Way We Work

TAISEI CORPORATION, Hitachi Consulting, GlobalLogic Japan, and Hitachi Solutions jointly developed the “Construction Approval Metaverse — CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT,” a platform that visualizes construction approval processes within the metaverse.

In this system, 3D building space is recreated within the metaverse based on BIM (Building Information Modeling), which integrates digital data on architectural design, structure, and facilities. Incorporating elements of gamification, the system allows users to navigate and inspect the interior using avatars. Furthermore, by leveraging generative AI, it is possible to record and store meeting minutes and other documentation covering the entire process within the digital space from virtual verification to final approval. By centrally managing all information in the digital space, this platform aims to transform traditional working styles in the construction industry and support the shift toward future-oriented ways of working, powered by data and AI.

The world-class engineering capabilities of GlobalLogic’s India-based team were also involved in the development. Their participation enabled the rapid implementation of on-site requirements within a short timeframe.

In July, the project received the “Encouragement Award” at Japan DX Grand Prize 2025 organized by the Japan Digital Transformation Promotion Association. At XR Consortium’s AIxR Creative Award 2025 in November, our project was recognized for bringing transformative innovation to the construction industry’s business model and for attracting significant attention as a benchmark for the next generation of digital transformation, and won the Award for Excellence in the Corporate Division.

Driving Global Transformation Through Our Shared Culture of Co-creation.

The Hitachi Group has cultivated a reputation for reliability and continuity through its support of social infrastructure over many years while GlobalLogic in Silicon Valley has honed its speed and creativity premised on the belief that the only constant is change. The fusion of these two forces in our Group has given birth to a new business model in which the opposing elements of “stability and transformation” not only coexist, but also synergize and accelerate our global growth.

GlobalLogic’s design thinking, agile development technologies, and culture have already begun to penetrate across Hitachi Group companies and business divisions. Our approach to involving customers and end users from the earliest stages of ideation and value validation through prototypes is fundamentally transforming Hitachi’s traditional product-centric approach. The addition of GlobalLogic’s Zero Distance approach and the consequent elimination of the gap between customers and on-site teams are fostering a deeper understanding of needs and challenges. At the same time, as a result of integration of Hitachi’s social-issue-driven mindset, co-creation is no longer merely a “strategy” — it is steadily becoming a “culture.”

Having set the destination of becoming a digital-centric company, what does Hitachi expect of GlobalLogic on this journey? We will serve as a flagbearer driving DX across the entire Hitachi Group and become a catalyst for transforming the organization’s culture. In addition, the insourcing of GlobalLogic’s talent from India and Eastern Europe into Japan’s system development projects is expanding and expected to help compensate for the shortage of digital talent in Japan.

GlobalLogic is proud to share Hitachi’s vision of “solving society’s most challenging issues through innovation.” As a leading company in AI, we can further accelerate digital innovation on a global scale through the use of AI—particularly Gen AI, Agentic AI, and Physical AI. With this capability to go beyond mere efficiency and digitization, we aim to create a tangible, sustainable, and transformative impact on society. I am convinced that GlobalLogic will play the role of a catalyst,. We will drive the realization of the “True One Hitachi”, bringing together the capabilities of the entire Hitachi Group in achieving end-to-end digital transformation. Through this collaboration, we are confident that we can bring the power of transformation to societies around the world.
